Excellent Home Page! I'm from the Navy myself, with VAW-112 off NAS Miramar (a.k.a. Fightertown USA) in San Diego, and I've been taking photos of these birds for years. Eventhough they look real ugly up close, plus the fact that they break down a lot, they are really one work of art. Cheers and more power!

after more than 20 years, from development to roll out, the F14 remains the US navy's top fleet defender. The F14, WAS my favourite fighter ( the Dassault Rafale is now ) and still remains as one of my favourites. Those who wish to eliminate this topdog of carrier fighters had better come out with something impressive, best of luck to the F22 Raptor. Your page is informative and it looks great, but I wouldn't mind spending a little more time to perfect the look of this impressive page. Hey you can't blame me for being sensitive to such things, I'm a graphic designer!!!

You have a cool webpage there and I'm pretty impressed with the graphics and pics.I'm a staunch F-14 fanatic and feel that none of the new air craft has the sexy look the F-14 has flaunts so proudly. Your webpage pays tribute to the F-14.

Awesome stuff! I liked the collection of photos! Maybe I didn't see it, but check out the totally black F-14 with the white PB bunny on the tail. I think it's attached to NASA's test flight center or to the missile test center at Pt. Magu, CA. That's an awesome lookin' F-14!

Loved this site! I served aboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) '86 to '90 and made all the deployments. If any of the crew members from either the Screaming Eagles (VF-51) or Sundowners (VF-111) make in here, "Kandy" sends his best! "Parrot sweet - clear to switch. Gold Eagle Strike out."

I wish to congratulate you on a very informative site on the Tomcat. I think I've been to the majority of Tomcat sites on the Net but so far yours is the best source for detail. Like you I'm a Tomcat nut, especially the Jolly Rogers (VF-84) and I have a few of their patches (with Battle S & E). I'll e-mail them to you later. Again your site is IMPRESSIVE! More power.

Outstanding website!I too am a huge fan of the 14 and have not come across such a well researched site.Well planned out and easy to navigate.I may have some research material you may not have ...although from what I have seen you seem to lack nothing in research material!.Anyway there is a book written by Tony Holmes called F-14 Tomcat its from the Osprey Aerospace collection.Have you heard of this book? The photos are stunning and it's information for the most part deals with the various squadrons and their markings.Good luck and thanks again for a job well done,I'll be checking back on your site soon again! Kind regards Gerry Davies Montreal,Canada.

mcg Josef Beran Jr.

Iīm Josef Beran Jr.from Czech republic. Our country turned from east to west in 1989. Than the way for data of NATO armament was free. I want to be the CZ Air Force Helicopter pilot. But I dont know if flying in our AF is not very perspektive. I belive, when we wil enter to the NATO structure our AF situation will be better. I think the F-14 Tomcat is the most elegantly airplane from the worldīs modern aircraft. I have kit of VF-111 Sundowners tomcat. Your dead manīs F-14 NIMITZ marking is better, but thereīs a problem with decals. One czech company had the kit with this decals, but its out of production. Iīm very interested by the US NAVY and MARINES, Vietnam war and Gulf war. I saw too The Final coutdown. I think itīs one of the best films about flying, because in most of films thare is a lot of unreal scenes. The final coutdown havenīt any unreal scenes, itīs litle bit SCI-FI, but not unreal,I have this film on video and i saw it for many times. I am learning to the glider pilot and last year i flew for 7 hours. I know that itīs not so much, but as a start of flying, itīs good i think. My friends are too interested by US armament. They are building kits of US aircraft as me and we changing photos and informations what we need for good kit. I connected last time to the Boeing company server. They have hundreds of good photos, but itīs better when i can talk with someone like this. I wish you more tomcats. Bye!

I'm doing an article for an overseas publication on Navy air power projection for the year 2k and beyond. I need to list the major F-14 upgrades including the LANTRIN and the engine tweaks. Are they listed anywhere, or do I have to go to back issues of Janes? PS - Nice page. A correction to my earlier remark on th S-2G, the aircraft is not a E model but a D model. Spent numerous hours under/in the belly and your pictue shows the old doppler antenna, the E model had a much more protruding ant. Doppler weas right behind the retractable Radar ant.

As an old S-2 crewmember looked at the pictures and the one that is labelled S-2G is incorrect. The aircraft pictured is an S-2E, the 6G on the tail was a Reserve indicator for aircraft assignment and location. Sorry otherwise good website.

Cool site! I spent several years working on the Tomcat as an airframe mechanic. I was in VF-124 from Nov. '88 to May '92 and then from June '92 to May '96 I was in VF-11. These are an extremely challenging aircract to work on for the airframes shops as well as other shops. We should remember how much labor goes into keeping them flying!

Now, I am on my way to becoming a professional pilot by hopefully attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the fall of 98. hi gentlemen this is the f-14 tango-oscar-mike-charlie-alpha-tango. or for you civilians the tomcat. built b grumman the original f-14a was first flown way back in 72, just missing nam. God nows how bad we'd have whooped there migs if the cat and her "pheonix" missles were loaded abord U.S. carriers. the giant leap and newest tomcat is the f-14d or "super tomcat" incorparating the latest in radar and infared as well as the l.a.n.t.i.r.n. or low altitude navigation & targeting infa-red for night. These super cats haven't been well funded though and only 2 or 3 full squadrons exsist. The remainder of "turkeys" in the U.S. Navy have been upgraded for use as f-14 b/d's the closest to the supertomcat. My favorite squadron would hae to be U.S.S. Enterprises VF-104 "Jolly Rodgers" whom fly f-14 b\d's. till next time "ANYTIME BABY!!!"

Hello, I am from Montreal, Canada and I just found your site. Let me tell you that it's one of the nicest and informative I found on the net. I do not have a lot of time to "surf" the net so when I find this kind of well-done sites, I take some time to explore it. Let me tell you that it was really interesting to see all these tomcats aligned side by side. If I get an E-mail Address, I'll try to send you some picture I made at this air show. I also visited Stuart Scmitt's site to let him know that I still have a database listing of all the officers assigned to VF-111 who were sent invites to the reunion back in 1988 or 1989 I think. The list went back quite a ways so if anyone else out there is interested email me.

Torsten, Phenominal site - I'll link it to our site - I'd appreciate a reciprocal link - we're in with most of the squadrons and now starting to work through the airlines. I was an S-3 pilot - flew T-34s/T-2s/A-4s in the TraCom. Decided to work a business instead of the airlines - already did some traveling on the "boat". You have the best Tomcat and probably the best military site I've seen. For the American audience you may want to convert meters and kilograms to feet and pounds even though it is an archaic system that should be displaced. My dad is in Colorado Springs, Colorado - he is is a retired navy pilot - his vitals are on the web site. Maybe we could work out a group rate on the extras for you - because not many people have enough flying money. I don't believe we have the schematics for the extra - if you get us a side / plan and front view along with some pictures we could make up a test model and send you one to rep for the company. Every pilot needs his plane on his desk to show his buddies - plus it's a promotional item for the company. Doug

Dear Collegue, I am the owner of the F-14 Tomcat Webpage that you already visited and left a note for me in my guestbook. I took a look at your site and found interesting stuff. First of all we know that we both make great quality pages and we should put links to each other. Second I think that we could share information, pictures, etc. to help each other. As constructive comment you shouldn`t put on your page that the images are only yours. What people like that most are photos and they take them all the time. This is the internet and people should share things with others. By the way you need color pictures in your site. I can provide you with some. Right now I connot update my page every week, because I am in school, but on weekends I can do something. Please tell me what you think about this. Ahould we help each other? Bye Jose Luis
