12.03.1986: Aircraft crashed during landing in very high seas off the coast of Alaska. The aircraft struck the round down during night ops on the USS Constellation, flamed out both engines while trying to clear the deck. Both crew ejected safely and the deck crew watched as the aircraft floated for a while and finally sank. |
